Medina County officials announced two more cases of coronavirus COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases up to 12 as of April 10.
One of the cases is in the 78059 zip code, which is the Natalia area, and is the result of community spread. The patient is self-isolating at home. There are now two confirmed cases in the Natalia area.
The other new case is in the 78861 zip code, in the Hondo area, and is the result of person-to-person transmission within the same household. This patient is also self-isolating at home. The Hondo area now has seven confirmed COVID-19 cases, the most of any area in the county.
“We ask that you PLEASE understand that this will not get better until ALL citizens of the state understand how easy it is to transmit this disease,” County Judge Chris Schuchart said in the press release announcing the newly confirmed cases. “Please stay home for Easter and thank God for your health and what you have.”
