The Pirates defeated Natalia at home last Tuesday, April 23, 2024, 4 – 2 on great pitching from Jair Flores. Flores threw a complete game and allowed 2 unearned runs while striking out 8.
The Pirates scored 2 in the first off of hits by Weston Jackson and Toby Davila. Mason Hill drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. The Pirates added another on a Mustang error.
Natalia answered back in the 3rd, taking advantage of 2 Pirate errors. Lytle added runs in the 3rd and 4th and held on to the lead.
Highlights: Weston Jackson, Toby Davila, Mason Hill, and Travis Norton all collected a hit. Mason Hill had 2 RBIs. Jair Flores struck out 8 and scattered 4 hits to secure the win.
Lytle finished 8 – 2 in District play, capturing the District Championship. The Pirates will play West Campus in the Bi-District round.
