Nine of twelve District 29-4A games involving the Warhorse baseball team were decided by three runs or less. Unfortunately for Devine, seven of those games were won by the opposition as the State Playoffs were not in the cards for the 2024 season.

Devine finished 3-9 in league play with one-run wins over Pearsall and Uvalde and a 22-run thrashing of Carrizo Springs.
Seniors Samuel Guardiola, Gabriel Esquibel, Corey Dirck, Elijah Gomez, Luke Friesenhahn, and Roger Gutierrez say goodbye to Warhorse baseball as they donned the maroon and gold jerseys for the final time last week.
This year’s juniors who will be looked to for leadership both on and off the diamond as seniors in 2025 are Henry Ramirez, Anthony Saldivar, Carson Suhr, Alfredo Ramirez, Ayden Leal, and Elijah Contreras,
Juniors in ’25 will be Rudy Costilla, Gerardo Villasenor, and Riley Gutierrez.
So long, seniors, and thank you for representing Warhorse baseball and Devine High School to the best of your athletic and academic abilities!
Head Coach Heath Poppe extends his thanks to manager Teotimo Stafford and statisticians Ainsley Buvinghausen and Alissa Zamora.
See ya in 2025!
