Tornado hits north of us; some parts of county get over 5 inches rain

Medina County was under Tornado Warnings for hours this past Saturday evening, and those storm clouds sure looked ominous over Devine, Natalia, Lytle, LaCoste, and Hondo areas. But thankfully county officials say downed trees included most of the storm damages. We got 2.5-3 inches of rain in different parts of the Devine/Lytle area, over 3 inches in parts of Yancey/Moore area, and even 5.3 inches in the Rio Medina area. Hail was also reported by some residents in Medina County and northern Frio County.

Not too far north of us, the storm did develop into an F1 Tornado in northwest San Antonio with winds estimated at 100 MPH.
