Medina County Horse Judging Team of Hannah Vierling, Abby Vierling and Mikaela Johnson competed at the APHA World Horse Judging contest at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Ft Worth on June 26, 2021. The team, coached by Russell Simpson, earned 4th place Senior team and 5th place in Performance. Hannah also earned 9th in halter individual, reserve performance individual, and 3rd in reasons individual, and 3rd overall individual.
In horse judging, you compete on a team as you learn to be the judge of a horse show! You learn all the body parts of a horse, the ideal characteristics of how a horse moves, and determine how to score horses in competition. You also learn to explain how you decided on your scores, decision-making and public speaking skills.
