Don’t be surprised if you see the Superintendent or some of the principals, teachers and coaches driving the buses regularly this year as the shortage of bus drivers continues across not only Devine ISD but many other area school districts.
Devine ISD is currently looking for applicants for bus drivers. DISD drivers are given competitive pay and paid training.
Drivers require a CDL and a Criminal Background Check/Fingerprinting to be considered. A CDL, or commercial driver’s license, requires 20 hours of training and testing.
Devine ISD has struggled with a driver shortage, as have many school districts nationwide in the past year.
Anyone interested in applying can go to devineisd.org or contact Devine Transportation at 830-851-0754.
