“We executed search warrants on the phones of the two deceased persons as well as another person of interest last week,” said Devine PD Lieutenant Chris Andrews. “The phones were taken to the Department of Homeland Security to be forensically analyzed, and we are currently waiting for the results. Everything that is on the phones can be replicated, along with what was deleted.”
“We don’t believe this was just an impulsive crime of passion. It was methodically planned out, and we believe the planning involved multiple people,” said Lieutenant Andrews.
They expect to make two arrests locally, while the involvement of a third person of interest is being investigated by a federal ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms) agent.
“The case to obtain a warrant for another person of interest, regarding the purchase of the murder weapon, will be presented to Grand Jury,” Lieutenant Andrews said.
The Medina County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Rangers, US Marshalls, and ATF are also assisting Devine PD with this tragic case.
