Mark Andrews Reus

Mark Andrew Reus of Hondo, age 50, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024.
Born March 29, 1973, in Hondo, he was the son of William H. and Margaret Dornbush Reus.
Mark was the managing partner of Reus Grain, LP. He served on the Medina County Farm Bureau Board and was currently serving on the Texas Farm Credit Board.  Mark was a big supporter of HABA and a top 10 donor of the MCJLS.

After graduating from Southwest Texas University, Mark returned to the family farm to help his dad and would eventually live out his dream of growing the grain business. Buying local grain from area farmers brought him so much satisfaction knowing they were given a fair price for their product. In November 1997, Mark met Tammy after they were introduced at St Paul Lutheran Church one Sunday. He said he knew that day Tammy would be his wife. They were engaged by June 1998 and married January 2, 1999.  In God’s time, they welcomed two beautiful daughters the: Cassidy Lynn on July 26, 2004, and Cambry Margaret on December 14,2005.  Mark was the perfect daddy and husband. He spent as much time with his family as he could. He played dinosaurs, trains, and catch with his girls and even took them shopping.  As the girls grew up, he never missed a game or event.  Knowing their dad was their biggest fan, they always could look in the stands and see their daddy there cheering and supporting whatever they were doing. Mark was also a great friend to many, always lending an ear and offering support and encouragement even during the times he was experiencing so much pain himself.  Mark was truly a man after God’s own heart as he served his Lord and Savior through his actions and how he lived his life. All could see the love of Jesus by how Mark loved his family and friends. Tammy, Cassidy and Cambry are forever blessed for the time, work and sacrifice Mark devoted to being a loving husband, daddy, leader, and provider.  Mark had a heart of gold.
He is survived by his parents; his wife of 25 years, Tammy Lynn Maxwell Reus; daughters, Cassidy Reus and Cambry Reus; brothers, Brian Reus (Zelda), Phillip Reus (Dana) and Nelson Reus (Sarah); and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, followed by interment  at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
