36 calls for Service

It looks like our call volume was way down last week, we only had 36 calls for service. I was on vacation, so I missed out on all the “slowness”, just my luck. Officers conducted 91 traffic stops, those stops resulted in 56 citations and 35 warnings.

In other L.P.D. news…. We had 5 arrests last week: #1 – A traffic stop resulted in a cite and release for possession of drug paraphernalia. #2 – A traffic stop resulted in a cite and release for possession of drug paraphernalia. #3 – A traffic stop that ended up in the H.E.B. Plus parking lot resulted in the arrest of a male suspect for resting arrests. He was booked into the Atascosa Co. Jail. #4 – A traffic stop resulted in a cite and release for possession of drug paraphernalia. #5 – A disturbance at a residence on N. Benton St. resulted in the arrest of a male suspect for public intoxication and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Atascosa Co. Jail.

Please join us on Tuesday, Oct. 3rd, for our annual National Night Out event at the Lytle Community Center from 6P to 8P. We will have free food (hotdogs, of course) and drinks. We will also be providing snow cones!
The big talk around town is the new turn lane that is being installed in front of city hall. If you drive north on Main St. I am sure you have wanted to turn up towards H.E.B. and find yourself in a long line of cars heading north. It might take a couple weeks, but that intersection should smooth up real nice. I don’t see it being a tourist destination like the Alamo or Fiesta Texas, but it will sure improve our quality of life.
