Did you ever get one of those medals in school that said:
MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED
Me Neither! Although I am pretty sure several of the Pearsall Public School Teachers and I KNOW ALL OF THE COACHES told me I was….Most Likely to Mess Up! Or similar words.
While that sure may have been true on any number of occasions BEFORE and AFTER those P.H.S. days, I have figured out something that may be important to a few of you Readers that have experienced something similar.
It is about learning how to become MORE LIKELY TO SUCCEED. And not only does that represent Many More of Us, but it is an approach that is much more attainable.
Along the way too many hits to the head via Athletics and Livestock MIGHT have scrambled my Brain a bit, and SURELY that Aging Process is NOT helping one bit. But this idea might just be worth you pondering on some.
It is 3 steps, because YOU LIKELY KNOW…too many more than that would NOT be my Style!
FIND SOMETHING YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT.
LEARN ALL YOU CAN ABOUT THE SUBJECT OR FIELD.
KEEP ON TRYING TO GET BETTER AT IT, NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES OR HOW MANY MISTAKES ARE MADE.
Certainly, it can be a Blessing to have a “natural talent” and a “perfect career fit” come together. Those story lines do happen and most of us can recall a FEW incidents of that.
But for that big bunch of us “ordinary folks’, it takes a little bit of exploration and even a few “false starts” to get things figured out and headed in the right direction.
After over a half a century of trying to help individuals find and refine “their place’, I would be a Liar not to confess some Failures in following the above plan. But I can also state with a good degree of confidence that such a strategy can work.
Yes, even if you did not win that Most Likely Award!
