The Great Preparation

The big freeze we’ve been expecting hasn’t hit yet, but I expect by the time we start pasting this newspaper together, my teeth will be chattering plenty fast. One thing is for sure. When the weatherman said “artic blast” I made sure to ask my husband to start getting some firewood ready. We were stuck without any dry firewood when the great “snowpocalypse” happened, and I kicked myself about that for days. I am willing to bet we are all a little better prepared this year than we were that awful year.

We just got back from skiing in New Mexico where it was plenty freezing, so at least we have the right kind of clothes to wear and a sled this time, should we need it.
We have firewood, a few cans of Wolf Brand Chili for easy meals, and my cousin Erin said a few months ago she got signed up for one of those “subscribe and save” online toilet paper orders that just keep coming and coming, so she said she has a whole arsenal of TP if gets that bad again!
I thought that was funny. Those subscribe and save orders are pretty tricky. Seems like they are long enough between them that you never remember to cancel them, and sometimes it seems like they send them more often than they are supposed to I swear. I ended up with a whole arsenal of fancy conditioner that I intended to just order a couple times.
So going into this, between our two families, we should have plenty of TP and plenty of conditioner to wash our hair if that water keeps working! By the time this paper comes out, the big freeze should be over, so I’ll end by saying I hope we didn’t freeze our butts off!
