A repair serviceman sadly lost his life in a horrific accident near the Atascosa/McMullen County line on July 17. The serviceman was identified as Aaron Garza, age 46 from St. Louis, Missouri.
“Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to this fatal vehicle pedestrian crash. A 2006 Volvo truck tractor towing a semi-trailer traveling southbound on State Highway 16 experienced a mechanical problem with its brakes and came to a stop within the right lane of traffic. A mobile repair service company responded to assist.”
“Unaware that the service man was still under the vehicle, the driver pulled away from the location,” the report states. “The vehicle traveled over the service man causing fatal injuries. The crash report can be obtained at Texas.gov.”
