Natalia set to host tournament this weekend

The Natalia Lady Mustangs (4-2) will be hosting a small round-robin tournament full of talent this coming weekend. Five talented squads will come to town on Friday and Saturday for the tournament will be the first hosted in Natalia in almost 10 years.
“We are excited about bringing a tournament back to Natalia and I am excited about the talent coming to town,” Natalia Lady Mustang Coach Tara Cortinas said.
Friday, March 5th: On Friday, March 5th the tournament begins at 9:00 a.m. against reigning 1A State Champion D’Hanis vs. the 6A Southwest Lady Dragons (2-2-1) at 9:00 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., Natalia will have a re-match with the Devine Arabians after suffering a sloppy loss to the Arabians last weekend in Natalia. The 12:00 noon game will feature D’Hanis vs. always talented and highly touted 4A LaVernia followed by a 1:30 p.m. battle between Natalia and 6A Southwest. This will be the first meeting between Natalia and the Lady Dragon since the early 90s despite being just 15 minutes down the road. The final game on Friday will be a 3:00 p.m. battle between Devine and LaVernia.
Saturday, March 6th: Saturday, the 9:00 a.m. battle will feature Natalia and D’Hanis followed by LaVernia and Southwest at 10:30 a.m. D’Hanis and Devine will battle at 12:00 noon, followed by LaVernia and Natalia at 1:30 p.m. The final game of the tourney features Devine and Southwest at 3:00 p.m.
Games will be 1:15 drop dead with no new inning after 1:10. If two teams are tied as time expires, the progressive ITB will be used. If the score is still tied at 1:15, the following tie breakers will be used: A. most runners to 3rd base, b. most runners advance to 2nd, most runners advance to 1st base, d. coin flip.
