Devine Police Report May 7-13

May 7
9:18 AM – A syringe was located while City employees were fixing a water leak on Sayers Ave.
1:56 PM – An adult female in the 1000 block of W. Malone Dr. was transported to the hospital for an emergency detention.
4:45 PM – Loud noise.
9:35 PM – Officer dispatched to the 500 block of W. Moore Ave. in reference to loud music. Officer made contact with homeowner in the 300 block of Lee Dr. and advised to lower music.
May 8
2:40 AM – Officer dispatched to the 200 block of College Ave. in reference to loud music in the area; unable to locate.
8:09 AM – Complainant in the 100 block of Colonial Pkwy. advised two male walked out of rear service door with unpaid merchandise at approximately 8:30 PM and then again at 9:53 PM on May 7. Complainant estimated value of merchandise at $3,000.
10:33 PM – Officers dispatched to the 600 block of E. Hondo Ave. in reference to two subjects acting suspicious around an ATM. Units patrolled the area; everything was okay.
11:45 PM – Officers dispatched to Hwy. 173 in reference to an 18-wheeler blocking the intersection. Vehicle was able to move off roadway.
11:50 PM – Officer operated an intoxilyzer test for Castroville PD.
May 9
1:06 AM – A male and female were having a discussion on private property; all was okay.
3:45 AM – Vehicle parked on roadway in the 500 block of Zig Zag Ave. Owner came from the 400 block of Judson and moved vehicle off roadway.
3:54 AM – Complainant on Rosewood advised she was assaulted by her live-in boyfriend, who also may have slashed her tires. Charges pending.
2:09 PM – Traffic complaint on vehicle evaded light and sirens pursued until the officer terminated in the 2000 block of Hwy. 173.
2:37 PM – Possible disabled vehicle in the 1000 block of Hwy. 173. Officer detected the smell of burnt motor oil from the vehicle.
2:50 PM – A vehicle was backed up near a door at Devine High School. Officer made contact with the driver, who was a Booster Club member putting away snacks.
3:43 PM – Officers dispatched to the 300 block of Briscoe Dr. in reference to a male subject causing a disturbance. All was okay; the male eventually calmed down.
6:18 PM – Officers dispatched to IH-35 SB in reference to a male subject seen walking; unable to locate.
7:45 PM – An adult female shoplifter ran from Walmart employees. Charges pending.
10:03 PM – Complainant in the 600 block of W. Moore Ave. said his son was upset and caused a disturbance with brother.
May 10
9:39 AM – Female complainant advised a silver Chevy Impala was parked on N. Windy Knoll Dr. and disrupting the peace with loud music; unable to locate.
9:33 PM – Officers assisted the Medina County Sheriff’s Office with a male subject laying on the side of the road on FM 2200. A deputy transported the male to a hospital for an emergency detention.
10:40 PM – Officer assisted Natalia PD with a male subject not complying at Love’s Truck Stop.
May 11
2:44 AM – Complainant in the 700 block of Jack Nicklaus Dr. reported a car alarm going off and motion light turning on. Officers searched the area; unable to locate.
8:44 AM – Complainant reported 18-wheelers racing in the 1200 block of W. Hondo Ave.; unable to locate.
7:30 PM – A vehicle dropped off two male subjects with backpacks who jumped a fence and went into a field; unable to locate.
May 12
2:20 AM – A vehicle stopped in the 500 block of Crouch Ave. was found to have been reported stolen. The driver was jailed.
8:00 PM – Complainant in the 300 block of W. Colonial Pkwy. said a neighbor was shooting a BB gun at his dogs.
8:23 PM – Complainant in the 1100 block of Dove Ave. reported dogs barking in the 1100 block of W. Hondo Ave. Officer made contact; homeowner advised dogs have been fed and had water. Everything appeared okay.
9:03 PM – Officer dispatched to IH-35 SB in reference to a box trailer with an out-of-state license plate driving recklessly; unable to locate.
May 13
12:26 AM – Loud music located in the 200 block of Breeze Dr. Homeowner advised to turn it down.
