Alice Marie Keilman

Alice Marie Keilman passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 after suffering a massive stroke. Marie was born on May 30, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas to late Josephine Wells and Howard Blount. She attended school in San Antonio. On May 23, 1945 she married her true love, Victor R. Keilman. In 1951, Marie and Rudy made their home in Devine, Texas where they raised their three children.
Marie always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She always loved to get hugs from her friends and family. Marie loved to laugh, dance and play bingo. Marie was a long-time member of the Christian Mothers and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devine. She and her husband, Rudy, were life-time members of the Devine VFW Post 3966 and the DAV Post 80. She was an active member in the VFW’s Women’s Auxiliary. Marie and Rudy were married for 71 years, when Rudy died in 2015. Shortly after Rudy passed away Marie went to live at the Devine Health and Rehab where she made many good friends. The family is very grateful to the staff at Devine Health and Rehab for treating Marie with much respect, care, and compassion.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Rudy Keilman, her mother, father, stepfather, sister and two brothers.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses- Vic Keilman, Jr. (Spouse-Marty) of D’Hanis, Rose Marie Willms (Spouse-John) of Big Foot, and Katie Shults (Spouse-Ted) of Devine. Six grandchildren are left behind: Lynnette Willms Murphy (Lytle), Terri Lynn Mello (Devine), Mary Katherine Pawelek (Falls City), Connie Hohon (D’Hanis), Ronnie Keilman (Sabinal) and Keil Shults (Corinth). Marie also leaves behind thirteen great-grandchildren: Bradley Murphy, Alex Murphy, Hunter Murphy, Ashley Millican, Megan Stewart, Michael Mello, Jr., Max Korczynski, Joshua Korczynski, Alye Hughes, Madi Keilman, Garrett Riley Keilman, Keilie Hohon and Stella Ryan Shults. Marie also has two great-great-grandchildren, Logan Gee and Paisley Marie Murphy. Marie has one living sister Darlene Shields (Beeville) and one brother-in-law Bob Keilman (San Antonio)
On Thursday, May 9th – 4:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. Visitation with Family and from 7:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. “Celebration of Life” slideshow & sharing of Stories at Hurley Funeral Home in Devine.
On Friday, May 10th: – 11:00 A.M. St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devine, followed by Burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Devine.
