JV Lady Mustangs compete well

The Natalia Junior Varsity Lady Mustangs have been hard at working during their season. They were able to snag their first victory of the season, last Friday at home versus Carrizo Springs. One day later, Natalia was able to win one of three games in the Stockdale Tournament.
The girls in blue were able to defeat the Lady Cats of Carrizo Springs in three sets. In set one, Natalia dominated winning 25-12, before falling in set two 19-25. The girls in blue showed a ton of determination in set three, as they won 25-18.
“We played well and did a lot of good things,” Coach Erica Callaway said.
In the Stockdale tournament, Natalia got off to a decent start as they picked up a hard fought set one win 25-21 over Karnes City. Unfortunately, the momentum shifted and KC defeated Natalia 25-11, 15-10.
In game two, Natalia was able to turn the tables on their luck, as they picked up a three set win versus Jourdanton 25-23, 19-25 and 15-13.
The girls in blue ran into tough competition in the third game, as the Navarro Lady Panthers made quick work of the Lady Stangs defeating them 25-10, 25-20.
Natalia finished the day with a three set over host Stockdale. Natalia defeated the Lady Brahmas 25-21 in set one, fell 23-25 in set two and finished with a huge 15-4 set three win.
Natalia opened district play on the road on press night in Cotulla. This coming Saturday, the Lady Mustangs travel to Zavala County to battle Crystal City.
On Tuesday, September 18th the girls in blue will be at home as they battle Cotulla once again for a district showdown at 5:00 p.m.
