The wheels on the bus go round

“I’m a silly little penguin waddling here, waddling there”…….That’s the song one of Tucker’s favorite toys sings. Who comes up with this stuff? Do they know something I don’t know?
Oh babies. They are so much fun, and so much work, and they change your life so much. My sister said it right when she said “When I became Mommy, I became my Mom.”
Hey I guess I should be grateful that Baby Tucker at least he likes the singing toy….it saves me the trouble of wearing out my beautiful vocal chords. On the other hand, my sister’s little girl, Baby Audrey Jane, likes the sound of her mommy singing.
After waking up constantly all night long for one extremely long month, my Baby Tucker has finally found it in his little heart to sleep the whole night thru for 3 nights in a row. I am so grateful. I should be full of energy with 3 nights of 8 hours sleep time, but for some dumb reason I keep waking up at all the same old Tucker times….10:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:30…and so on. It’s like I have some kind of vicious alarm clock in my head. Of course my waking up wakes my husband up and then everybody has to go to the bathroom way too many times at night. It’s a vicious cycle.
Meanwhile, my sister is a few miles down the road accidentally or automatically bursting out into song ….songs like The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round and/or The Farmer in the Dell, while she sways back and forth like she’s cradling Baby Audrey. She told us she’s even started to do that in the grocery store once. I would have liked to see that.
Now time for some more news…..I cut my finger the other day, and because of my small wound, I’ve coerced my daughter into doing the dishes two nights in a row. I wonder how long I can milk it? When I cut my finger she rushed to the medicine cabinet and got me two band aids, because as she explained, “that will make you feel twice as better.” I never knew that.
Well, the baby’s crying in the living room with my husband and doesn’t sound like he’s stopping anytime soon, so duty calls. What can I say?….The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round. Now the person who wrote that baby song was a genius. Maybe that waddling penguin song has a greater meaning too!
