The Freshmen Arabians faced Crystal City last Tuesday for their only game of the week. They took a big win in two sets 25-3 and 25-6.
“We have remained undefeated in District and Tuesday we will finish the season against Lytle,” Coach Kim Lane said. “The girls had an outstanding game with many kills and aces.”
With the many kills were Allyson Taylor 4, and Brandi DuBose 1. They also scored 12 aces; Spannagel and Selly Gutierrez each with 3, and Taylor and Allison Stevens each with 2. Several of the girls had runs of serves; Gutierrez 10, Spannagel 10, Taylor 5, and Stevens 8.
“I am very proud of my girls this season,” Coach Lane said. “We have faced setbacks and changes all season and they have remained focused and determined. We will go into our last game looking for an undefeated season and I am confident we will do that. I am very fortunate that my first year coaching in Devine has been with these girls. They are a great group of athletes that have a lot of potential and I am looking forward to watching their athletic career unfold,” said Coach Lane.
