JV Arabians beat Bandera 11-1

The JV Arabians hosted Bandera last Tuesday, March 7, and cruised to an easy 11-1 win over the JV Lady Bulldogs.
Devine got off to a fast start, scoring twice in the bottom of the 1st inning. Leadoff batter Janae Wofford singled and stole second base, and Destiny Morales drew a walk. Bella Gutierrez’s comebacker to the pitcher drove in Wofford. Jazzlin Olvera doubled later for a 2-0 lead.
Three more runs came in the 2nd inning. Jasmine Pompa led off the inning with a walk, Allyson Long reached on an error, and Leah Herrera reached on a fielder’s choice. Wofford and Morales drew consecutive walks. Long, Herrera, and Wofford all came around to score to go up 5-0.
Bandera’s sole run of the game came in the top of the 4th inning thanks to a walk and a single.
The JV Arabians responded with their biggest inning of the game, scoring five times. Herrera and Wofford drew consecutive walks, and Morales followed with a single that drove in Herrera, Gutirrez reached base, driving in Wofford, and Olvera followed with a single that knocked in Morales. Both Gutierrez and Olvera later scored for a 10-1 lead.
In the top of the 5th inning, Wofford hit a two-out single and came around to score on an error to give Devine the 11-1 run-rule win.
