It is with great sadness that the family of Janith “Jan” Beer announces her passing after a losing battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the age of 63 years at her home in Castroville.
She was born October 5, 1953 in Davenport, Iowa. On May 18, 1984, she married Thomas “Tom” Beer in Mason City, Iowa. She was a custom picture framer and worked with her husband as a professional picture framer at their business, Fast Frame Picture Framing, in San Antonio. Jan was a member of the Central Texas Professional Picture Framers Association.
Jan will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years, Thomas and her children, Kevin Book, Daniel Book and fiancée Carrie, Edward Frelond, and Laura Beer. Jan will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Alex Book, Jasmine Book, Zach Book, Tanner Book, Alexi Beer, Madison Book, Jordyn Gustafson, Kaylee Otto and Ashton Otto; two great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Doris Beer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Corwin and Betty Schumacher Corwin and brothers, Mark Corwin, Bud Corwin and James E. Corwin, Jr.
A Celebration of Jan’s Life will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 5:00 pm at the family home, 176 County Road 5635, Castroville, Texas. Memorials may be made in Jan’s memory to Jack Foundation online at www.TeamJackFoundation.org or the charity of your choice.
