Barbara Moore set to retire from the Driscoll Public Library

Though she is retiring from the library on Sept. 29, Barbara Moore will still be leading Preschool Storytime.

After 18 years with the City of Devine, Barbara Moore announced she will be retiring at the end of September.
Barbara began work for the City of Devine in the utilities department before moving to the library when help was needed in that department.
Barbara was a natural fit for the library, having volunteered and worked in libraries throughout her life. She began under the supervision of Kate Johnson and upon Kate’s retirement, Barbara stepped into that position.
For the past 17 years she has been instrumental in the growth of our library. She is fondly known as “Miss Barbara” to all the children and most patrons of the library. She is renowned for her dedication to this community in providing both education and entertainment through programs at the library.
The library staff is going to miss her tremendously. We are fortunate that “Miss Barbara” has agreed to continue to conduct our Preschool Storytime and volunteer with our Friends organization.
Everyone is invited to stop by the library between now and Friday, September 29 to share memories with Barbara and wish her the best in her new adventures.
