Natalia Police Department March 14-19


March 14

3:27 PM – Officer was dispatched to the 2400 block of Hwy. 132 in reference to a disturbance. Officer made contact with the complainant, who advised her aunt from San Antonio went over to her house and dropped off their grandmother so she could take care of her. The complainant told her aunt she couldn’t take care of her due to excessive drinking and didn’t want that around her small children. The aunt screamed some profanities to her but retreated to her car to avoid conflict.
5:55 PM – Officer responded to the 600 block of Miller St. in reference to child welfare concern. Officer spoke to the complainant, who informed the officer that his niece had her small children walking around in animal feces and it was very filthy inside the house and there was possible narcotic activity while the children were there. Officer found out the incident was located in the Twin Lakes division and was referred to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office.
March 15
2:18 PM – Officer heard an alert tone go over the radio of a stabbing at the 500 block of W. Hondo Ave. in Devine. Officer arrived on scene and observed officer had the suspect in custody and placed in a marked patrol unit. Officer cleared the scene without further incident.
3:20 PM – Officer was called about a 2007 Chrysler vehicle possibly trying to sell a stolen welder to the caller, but the caller did not want it and decided to report the suspicious circumstances. Officer was informed the vehicle was leaving the Lytle area and headed over to Natalia. Officer set up on Hwy. 132 but was unable to locate the vehicle.
9:48 PM – Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of Palfrey St. in reference to wanted subject on property. Officer checked for warrants on a female who had an active warrant out of Medina County Sheriff’s Office. Officer transported her to the Natalia Police Department where a Medina County Deputy met with the Officer and took custody of the female and transported her to the Medina County Jail.
March 16
6:42 PM – Officer was dispatched to the Beverage Express located on Hwy. 132 in Natalia in reference to a possible robbery that may occur there. Officer spoke to the complainant and gathered all the information and informed the complainant the police department would be making frequent patrols.
March 18
8:10 PM – Officer was dispatched to CR 770 to assist the MCSO with a couple of vicious dogs trying to bite the neighbor on her property. The dog’s owner heard the complainant screaming, so he ran over and took control of his dogs, securing them on a leash back on his property. Officer explained that if the vicious dogs were to go back on her property, she could protect herself at all costs with whatever means necessary.
March 19
2:30 PM – Officer was dispatched to a fire in the 400 block of Bartlett St. Natalia VFD made location and later extinguished the fire, but not after it burned down a wooden storage building and scorched the residence adjacent to the building. Officer investigated the scene and spoke to neighbors, later finding out the fire was set by two of the grandchildren who were visiting from out of town. The two juveniles were taken to the Natalia Police Department and later released to their mother pending the investigation.

Lytle Police Report March 13-19


March 13

1:00 AM – Officer responded to IH-35 at mile marker 132 to assist an Atascosa Co. Deputy Constable in a vehicle search.
1:40 AM – Officer responded to Chevron for an alarm.
6:20 AM – Officer responded to Lynda’s Trade Mart to speak to a complainant in reference to a resident who was playing loud music. Officer met with resident, who complied. Officer was then waved down by complex owner, who stated that the same resident had turned off the gas to the complex. Officer spoke with resident, who then turned the gas back on and stated he didn’t know it went to the rest of the building.
10:20 AM – Officer responded to HEB Plus to unlock a vehicle.
12:19 PM – Officer responded to Carter and Son’s Auto to unlock a vehicle.
2:15 PM – Officer responded to Lynda’s Trade Mart to speak to a complainant in reference to a water meter being tampered with.
4:15 PM – Officer responded to the Whataburger parking lot to unlock a vehicle.
9:27 PM – Officer responded to Chevron to talk to a complainant in reference to found property.
11:30 PM – Officer responded to Lynda’s Trade Mart to speak to a complainant in reference to damage to a building.
March 14
1:38 AM – Officer responded to Star Food Mart for an alarm.
2:37 PM – Officers responded to N. Benton St. at Main St. for a report of a truck blocking the roadway. Officers spoke with subject, who departed.
5:18 PM – Officer responded to Adams St. for a possible criminal activity.
5:20 PM – Officer responded to Adams St. for a report of a 15-year-old runaway juvenile.
5:45 PM – Officer responded to Main St. to unlock a vehicle.
6:03 PM – Officer responded to Lytle State Bank for a report of a disoriented elderly male. Officer located the male and provided a courtesy ride to his residence outside La Coste. Officer gave subject’s caretaker a ride back to Lytle State Bank to get the vehicle.
8:34 PM – Officer responded to the HEB convenience store for a report of a physical disturbance between a male and a female. Officer was advised the couple left prior to his arrival. The officer was able to locate the vehicle and determined that no assault had occurred.
8:45 PM – Officer responded to Lynda’s Trade Mart for a report of loud music. Officer made contact with subject playing the music and advised him to keep it low.
9:10 PM – Officer responded to Camino Real Crisis Center for a report of a suspicious person. Officer made contact with a male and gave him a courtesy ride to Devine.
March 15
3:38 AM – Officer responded to Chevron for an alarm.
9:33 AM – Officer responded to Great Clips to unlock a vehicle.
12:00 PM – Officer responded to Wisdom Rd. for a welfare check. The homeowner was not home and the gate to the residence was closed. No contact was made.
12:05 PM – Officers responded to IH-35 at mile marker 132 S. for a report of debris in the roadway. Officers removed a tire from the road.
12:20 PM – Officer responded to John Lott Park for a report of an abandoned vehicle. Officer was unable to locate the driver. Officer went to owner’s residence but was unable to make contact with the owner.
12:53 PM – Civilian Auxiliary responded to HEB Plus to unlock a vehicle.
2:00 PM – Complainant stopped by PD to talk to an officer in reference to a scam.
2:15 PM – Officer responded to Lytle Apartments for a report of an assault.
5:28 PM – Officer responded to John Lott Park to unlock a vehicle.
6:40 PM – Officer responded to HEB Plus for a report of a harassment.
6:45 PM – A 14-year-old male juvenile was processed for Assault by Contact. Incident occurred on Park Place on March 10.
10:40 PM – Officer responded to IH-35 NB for a report of a reckless driver who was driving all over the highway. Officer was unable to locate.
March 16
7:40 AM – Officer responded to Lynda’s Trade Mart to speak to a complainant in reference to a report of natural gas being turned off by a resident. Because the shut-off valve was in resident’s room, he shut the valve to prevent it from igniting. Officer referred case to the Fire Marshal.
10:15 AM – Complainant talked to officer in reference to a civil matter.
10:40 AM – Officer responded to Lynda’s Trade Mart for a report of a civil matter.
11:26 AM – Officer responded to Freeway Auto Insurance for a standby while a terminated employee loaded all her belongings. Officer was originally dispatched because employee refused to leave the business.
1:55 PM – Officers provided funeral escort for Hurley’s Funeral Home.
4:15 PM – While on patrol on Main St., officer observed a motorcycle exit onto Hwy. 132 from IH-35 S. The motorcycle was clocked at 123 mph and continued to accelerate. Officer was unable to locate.
4:30 PM – Officer responded to Main St. for a report of a suspicious Ford Mustang. Officer was unable to locate.
5:55 PM – Officer responded to Pumphouse Carwash for a report of a verbal disturbance. Complainant reported a truck driver refused to leave after he was asked to. Complainant reported that a couple of weeks earlier this driver had cussed out his wife. The driver departed prior to officer’s arrival. Complainant intends to file a trespass notice against the driver if he returns.
6:15 PM – Complainant stopped by PD to report that his wallet was lost. He last saw his wallet the previous day while at the HEB convenience store. Complainant stated that an unknown person(s) attempted to use his debit/credit cards in Natalia and San Antonio. Complainant believes it was taken from his vehicle while parked at his residence on Oak St.
March 17
12:20 AM – Officers responded to Days Inn for a report of a disturbance. Officers made contact with three males who had all been drinking. Record checks resulted in the arrest of a 44-year-old male for having an outstanding warrant out of Bexar Co. for Assault Bodily Injury – Family Violence. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail.
4:32 AM – Officers responded to Bank St. at Main St. for a report of a suspicious person/vehicle. Officers made contact with the male, who was identified as the owner of a computer store next to where he was parked. All was okay.
10:30 AM – Officers responded to Main St. at FM 2790 N. for a report of a disabled vehicle blocking the roadway. The vehicle was pushed off the roadway.
10:45 AM – Officers responded to Lynda’s Trade Mart to assist Adult Protective Services with a visit.
5:08 PM – Officer responded to Railroad for a report of a possible intoxicated person. Officer made contact with a male subject. Officer contacted caregiver, who picked up subject.
5:49 PM – Complainant reported a civil matter that turned into a welfare check. All was okay.
6:49 PM – Officer responded to the HEB convenience store to assist a motorist with a jumpstart.
11:03 PM – While on patrol, officer noticed the door to John’s Small Engine Repair open past business hours. Officer contacted the owner, who was working late.
March 18
8:30 AM – Officer responded to IH-35 at mile marker 132 SB for a report of a minor crash.
12:11 PM – Officer responded to Lytle City Hall to speak to a complainant in reference to damage to complainant’s vehicle. Complainant believes it happened in San Antonio. Officer issued a blue form.
12:21 PM – Officer responded to Hwy. 132 for a report of a burglary of a vehicle. Unknown person(s) entered complainant’s unlocked vehicle without consent. Stolen items include a passport, old wallet with old credit cards, checkbook, and $30.00 in change.
8:15 PM – Officer responded to Hyde Park to speak to a complainant in reference to a bat inside the residence. Officer contacted Animal Control and stood by until they arrived.
11:28 PM – Officer responded to N. Prairie St. to assist Atascosa EMS with a male patient having a possible stroke.
11:50 PM – Officer responded to Dollar General for a report of a subject parking their vehicle in the parking lot and leaving the area. Officer checked the area but was unable to locate.
March 19
2:30 AM – Officer responded to Harbor St. for a report of an ex-boyfriend threatening to break into ex-girlfriend’s residence. Subject left scene prior to officer’s arrival.
2:53 AM – While on patrol at Best Western Plus, officer made contact with a male and female standing in the rear of the parking lot. Both parties stated all was fine.
8:30 AM – Officers responded to Lytle Nursing Home for a report of a natural death of a 54-year-old male subject.
10:02 AM – Officers responded to Valero to speak to a complainant in reference to a runaway juvenile.
10:40 AM – Officers spoke with the owner of Topis in reference to operating a business without a fire inspection or certificate of occupancy. Owner was advised to close the business.
2:57 PM – Officer responded to St. Andrew’s Church for a report of a purse stolen during the 1:00 PM Mass.
3:05 PM – Officers responded to Aubrey St. at 4th St. to assist the Natalia VFD with a structural fire and crowd control.
3:45 PM – Officers responded to Ball Rd. for a welfare check.
3:48 PM – Officers responded to Railroad St. at Bank St. for a report of a burglary of a vehicle/attempted motor vehicle theft.
4:05 PM – Officers responded to HEB Plus for a report of a hit and run.
4:33 PM – Officer responded to Mesquite St. for a report of residents shooting a gun for target practice. Upon arrival, officer spoke with one of the residents, who denied the allegations.
5:15 PM – Officer responded to IH-35 at Luckey Rd. to assist Atascosa Co. with locating a vehicle involved in a hit and run.
5:18 PM – Officer responded on IH-35 SB at Atascosa/Bexar Co. line for a welfare check on a driver that had pulled over. Officer was unable to locate vehicle.

Devine Police Report March 10-16


March 10

9:52 AM – Trash in an ACI truck was on fire. The trash was removed and the fire was put out.
5:45 PM – Complainant at Valley Mart #15 reported a suspicious male Uber driver. All was okay.
6:45 PM – Complainant in the 400 block of FM 2200 reported a disturbance between a son and stepfather. A male subject repeatedly assaulted a family member and was jailed.
9:50 PM – Officer served a municipal warrant for theft < $100 on a male subject who was already in jail.
10:53 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 500 block of E. Hondo Ave. The driver was found to have an open container of an alcoholic beverage. Drug paraphernalia was also located in the vehicle, and the driver had a suspended license. The driver was cited and released.
March 11
3:05 PM – Complainant at Walmart reported a female walking in the parking lot and crying. All was okay.
5:40 PM – A subject in the 200 block of S. Wilson Dr. was cited for a City Ordinance violation.
8:55 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 100 block of N. Teel Dr. Drug paraphernalia was located in the vehicle. The female driver was cited and released.
9:05 PM – Officer dispatched for a possible structure fire in the 300 block of N. Washington Dr that turned out to be a controlled burn. Homeowner was advised of the City Ordinance for controlled burns.
March 12
1:20 AM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 300 block of N. Teel Dr. The male driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
10:02 AM – Complainant in the 500 block of Mockingbird Ln. reported a disturbance between herself and her husband.
3:38 PM – Dispute in the 600 block of E. Hondo Ave. between two male subjects involving possible theft and criminal mischief.
5:13 PM – Complainant in the 700 block of Djon called in reference to a 14-year-old discharging a BB gun and almost striking the complainant’s son. The child’s mother was advised of the City Ordinance.
5:43 PM – Officer assisted DPS with an intoxicated driver.
6:09 PM – Complainant reported a black F-150 tailgating and driving recklessly on SB IH-35 near mile marker 124. Unable to locate.
7:59 PM – Complainant in the 700 block of Curtis Ave. reported an open fire left unattended in the 600 block of Curtis Ave. A citation was issued to the resident.
8:34 PM – Homeowner in the 500 block of Griffin Dr. had an open fire. The owner was advised of the City Ordinance and the fire was extinguished.
11:10 PM – Verbal disturbance between two male subjects in the 300 block of Renfro Dr. The parties agreed to stay away from each other.
March 13
9:35 AM – Complainant in the 300 block of W. Moore Ave. reported someone using her information on an IRS income tax return.
6:48 PM – Complainant reported her son lost his phone at the park. The phone was tracked to Triple C, but officer could not locate it.
10:39 PM – Complainant in the 700 block of Curtis Ave. called in reference to her boyfriend knocking and kicking on the door.
March 14
5:28 AM – Complainant in the 500 block of Mesquite Ave. reported loud music. The source of the loud music was located, and the homeowner turned it off.
March 15
3:30 AM – Officer assisted DPS with a vehicle accident on Hwy. 132 S. and Burnt Boot Creek.
1:49 PM – Officers assisted US Customs in detaining an airplane occupied by two males at Devine Municipal Airport until arrival of Customs officials from Pearsall.
2:15 PM – Report of a bounty hunter on location at Viva Zapata attempting to pick up a subject and getting resistance. The Medina County Sheriff’s Office transported the subject on a warrant.
6:11 PM – Four male subjects at Walmart were cited and released for theft under $100 for stealing an energy drink and an auto accessory.
7:22 PM – Complainant at Devine Warhorse Stadium found a backpack. The backpack was later returned to its owner.
9:15 PM – A subject at Velasco Apartments was advised to turn down music. All was okay.
March 16
1:07 AM – Officers dispatched to the 700 block of N. Windy Knoll Dr. in reference to a verbal disturbance between a husband and wife that turned physical. The husband was arrested for assault bodily injury family violence and jailed.
2:05 PM – Officer served six municipal warrants on a male subject in the 100 block of Covey Ln.
2:43 PM – Officer served four municipal warrants on a female subject at N. Bright Dr. and E. Benton Ave.

Lytle Police Report March 6-12

Mar. 6
7:07 AM – Officer responded to FM 2790 at Blume Dr. for a report of a loose horse. Citizen detained the horse and released it to the officer until owner arrived.
7:15 AM – Officer responded to Chevron for a report of an abandoned vehicle in the parking lot. Vehicle was not stolen, it was owned by a local resident. Complainant stated he would wait for owner to contact the store.
7:55 AM – Traffic stop at IH-35 N. Frontage Rd. resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old male subject for Possession of Controlled Substance PG1 < 1g (heroin) and Fraudulent Use of Identifying Info of Others and having a warrant out of Bexar Co. for Theft $100-$750. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail.
1:44 PM – Officer responded to Quicksilver Automotive for a burglary of a vehicle. Unknown suspect(s) took a stereo out of a Ford F-250 over the weekend.
2:03 PM – Officer responded to HEB Plus for a two-vehicle crash.
3:10 PM – Officers responded to Cricket Wireless for a report of a two-vehicle crash and a disturbance involving a knife being displayed. Officers determined that it was a cell phone that was mistaken for a knife.
5:13 PM – Officer responded to HEB Plus to talk to a complainant in reference to issuing a criminal trespass notice to a customer.
8:15 PM – Officer responded to Bill Miller BBQ to talk to a complainant about a civil matter.

2:45 AM – Officer responded to S. Prairie St. to assist a motorist with a jump start.
5:45 AM – Officer responded to Lynda’s Apartments for a report of loud music. Officer spoke with resident, who agreed to turn the music down.
10:58 AM – Officer responded to CR 6842 for a report of a suspicious blue SUV driving slowly around in the area. Officer checked the area, unable to locate.
11:15 AM – Traffic stop on Wisdom Rd. resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old male subject for Driving While License Invalid (Subsequent Violation) and No Insurance. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail.
11:20 AM – Officer responded to John Lott Park for a report of school-aged children playing at the park. Officer searched the area, unable to locate.
2:03 PM – Officers responded to Adams St. to assist Atascosa EMS.
3:25 PM – Officer responded to Country View Apartments for a report of a verbal disturbance. Neither party wanted to leave.
5:30 PM – Officer responded to Country View Apartments for a welfare check. Officer arrived and viewed a verbal disturbance. The male party left the residence with his brother for the night.
8:30 PM – Officer responded to Oak St. at Somerset St. for a report of a verbal disturbance.
8:50 PM – Officer responded to Days Inn for a report of a verbal disturbance.

3:20 AM – Officer responded to Lynda’s Trade Market to talk to a complainant. Upon officer’s arrival, no complainant was found.
11:24 AM – Officer responded to Lynda’s Trade Market for a complainant thinking someone was inside his apartment.
2:44 PM – Officer responded to McDonald St. for a dog running at large. Animal Control was contacted.
5:02 PM – Officer responded to N. Prairie St. at Laredo St. for a suspicious person call.
5:15 PM – Officer responded to Bealls for a request of a criminal trespass notice being issued. The subject left prior to officer’s arrival.

Natalia Police Report March 5-10

Mar. 5
8:10 PM – Officer responded to the 700 block of Miller St. in reference to a shots fired call. Officer spoke to the complainant and was advised she heard approximately five shots being fired from what appeared to be from a large caliber handgun. Officer checked the area but was unable to locate the source of the gunfire.
Mar. 7
9:10 AM – Officer was dispatched to Dollar General in reference to theft. Officer made contact with the complainant and she advised two actors walked into the store and walked out of the store with approximately 12 bottles of fabric softener, depriving the store of their merchandise. A description of a vehicle was given and was located in Devine. Officer made contact and was given consent to search the vehicle looking for the stolen merchandise, which resulted in negative results.
5:36PM – Officers dispatched to CR 6700 just outside of city limits in reference to a female with a knife threatening another person. Officers arrived to assist with the call just behind a Medina County Deputy. Other deputies arrived on scene a short time later, and PD officers cleared the scene without incident.
Mar. 8
6:59 PM – Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a stop sign and made contact with the driver. Officer could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officer conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of an adult female who was in possession of marijuana <2 0z. and drug paraphernalia.
Mar. 10
3:17 PM – Officer responded to a call on CR 700 off of IH-35 N. in reference to a crash. Officer spoke to the driver of the vehicle at fault and she informed the officer that she was northbound when she hit a puddle of water and hydroplaned, causing her brakes not to work properly and crashing into a metal fence.

Devine Police Report March 3-9

Mar. 3
8:09 PM – Officer dispatched to Walmart for detained shoplifters. Two female subjects stole makeup and were cited and released.
8:26 PM – Complainant on Thompson Ave. advised she heard what sounded to be a male subject and a female subject arguing. Unable to locate.
10:44 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 300 block of S. Teel Dr. The male driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
11:15 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation. Officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana from inside the vehicle. 0.3 grams of cocaine was located in the vehicle. The male driver was arrested and jailed.
Mar. 4
12:00 AM – Complainant at the Devine Plaza Apartments reported a disturbance between a male subject and a female subject. All was okay.
7:39 AM – Officer dispatched to the 100 block of Littleton Dr. in reference to a small fire in the yard. The fire was extinguished.
8:20 AM – Officer dispatched to Libold Dr. in reference to large brush piles being burned.
4:14 PM – A male subject and a female subject walked out of Walmart with unpaid merchandise. The subjects were last seen driving off in a black Tahoe.
5:25 PM – Officer dispatched to Triple C Steakhouse in reference to a male subject on location causing a disturbance. The subject left prior to officer’s arrival. Officer was advised the subject is no longer welcome on location.
Mar. 5
1:00 AM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 300 block of S. Teel Dr. The driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
2:08 PM – Officer dispatched to Walmart for a detained shoplifter. A male subject was cited and released.
6:40 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation at Savannah’s Car Wash. The male driver was found to have an active warrant out of Bexar Co. and was arrested.
6:47 PM – Complainant in the 500 block of N. Sayers Dr. reported a burglary. Forced entry was observed. Electronics, tools, and jewelry were taken.
7:26 PM – Officers arrested a male subject in the 200 block of Breeze Dr. for assault by contact.

3:00 AM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 100 block of S. Sayers Dr. The male driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
11:12 AM – Complainant reported losing one key on a key chain.
5:53 PM – Officers dispatched to Walmart for a detained shoplifter. Subject stole a phone valued at $59.00. The subject was cited and released.

11:52 AM – Complainant reported the loss of a black wallet containing ID, medical cards, important papers, and some cash. The wallet was left on the top of a vehicle when backing out of Las Palmas.
4:56 PM – A Medicare card belonging to a female subject was found in the City Hall parking lot.
7:20 PM – A vehicle with an oversized load damaged the overhead phone line and two poles on S. Upson Dr. and Hondo Ave.

9:29 AM – John J. Ciavarra Elementary and Devine Intermediate School performed a lockdown drill. Devine PD officers were assisted by the Medina County Sheriff’s Office and DPS units.
9:57 AM – Officer accompanied Texas Comptrollers’ office to three separate businesses for seizures.
10:59 AM – Devine Middle School and Devine High School performed a lockdown drill. Devine PD officers were assisted by the MCSO and DPS units.

2:30 AM – Officers assisted with a physical disturbance at Charlie’s Ice House. Parties left prior to arrival. All was okay.
5:40 AM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 400 block of N. Teel Dr. The male driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
1:03 PM – Complainant at Enterprise Rent-A-Car reported a female subject had not returned a vehicle. The vehicle was recovered abandoned by the San Antonio PD.
1:20 PM – Officer dispatched to Walmart for a detained shoplifter. A female subject stole household items and was cited and released.
2:48 PM – Officer dispatched to the 300 block of CR 774 for a burning brush pile. Officer made contact with a male subject. The fire was put out due to the residence being located inside the city limits.
