Where did the little boy go?

Tuck went to the barber shop for the first time this week. He’s had his hair cut in mom’s kitchen for a long time, and it was becoming a little obvious after my last attempt.

Girls hair is a lot easier to cut! Every mistake on a boy’s head is a little too obvious.
The barber said when he leaves he’d look years older, and she was right! Where did my little boy go?
We also went to meet the teacher last week, and it was a hit. It took him a little while to warm up to the idea, but by the end of the day, he was so excited he wanted to stay and start school that very day.
He isn’t the only one starting kinder this year. I chuckled when Tuck went down the hall to find cousin Audrey, and took her, holding hands, to introduce her to his teacher.
“This is my cousin,” he said proudly.
Then she took Tuck to her class, and showed him her desk.
“If you ever need anything Tuck, I’ll be right here,” she said. She is cute as a button.
Their love for each other is so beautiful.
The next day, on the way to Chuck E Cheese, we stopped at the “cowboy” store where Tuck picked out his first pair of cowboy boots, jeans and a belt. He’s always been a little bit of a cowboy, but never wanted to wear the outfit until now.
Between being so brave at meet the teacher, his new cowboy outfit, and getting a haircut, I feel like he has grown a year older in one week’s time! I miss his crazy little home-cut head of hair already!
