America’s Independence Remembered at Four Corners

Thanks to the Current Events Club for placement of US flags and patriotic signage at Devine’s 4 Corners to celebrate our nation’s 248th birthday!
Club members Alma Horvath and Martha Wall, along with Wall family members George (Grandpa Coach), daughter Kate Johnson and her children Trip, Josephine, and Frank, and two of Laura McGill’s children John and Avery, worked together to set up the display.

Our club’s goal: finding ways to live out “We the people” that bring our community – and nation – together as we carry out the REMEMBER. HONOR. and TEACH. components of the Wreaths Across America program. This year’s WAA ceremony day is Saturday, December 14, again taking place at both or Devine’s cemeteries on Colonial Parkway.
Join the efforts to honor our country as one nation. Fly your US flag. Look for what unites us and ways to demonstrate the better parts of who we are as Americans and citizens of Devine and Medina County. We all can have a part in bringing our country together, united under our American flag and our nation’s ideals.
If you’d like to have a part in commemorating our country’s patriotic days, participating in the upcoming Wreaths Across America program, or joining the Current Events Club of Devine, contact Linda Kreinhop (830-665-6377 or 713-562-7504) or Martha Wall (210-213-5620). Be sure to leave a message!
Our Nation’s 250 birthday celebration is just 2 years away! Got any ideas for how our community can celebrate? “One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. Let’s make plans to get THIS birthday started!
