Varsity Warhorses beat Crystal City, now 5-1 in district

It took until the bottom of the fourth inning for Devine to score, but once they earned the lead they held onto it for the win at 8-4 against Crystal City. This win puts them at 5-1 in district and 15-6 overall. They faced Pearsall last night, April 16 and will play SA Wagner on Friday and then in Hondo on April 23rd.
Bottom of the fourth, down 0-1, 2 outs, and bases loaded with Dalton Kramer, Newt Crouch, and Truett Barron, Chad Lawson singled to center and Kramer and Crouch score. Barron is on third, Lawson stole second, and then Blaine Miller walked to reload the bases. Isaiah Oropeza hit a double to center and clears the bases, inning ends 5-1.
Bottom of the sixth, Devine 5, Crystal City 2, one out, and Lawson on third, Oropeza single to left and Lawson scored. Next a strike out for the second out. Kramer walked and then Crouch doubled to bring home both Oropeza and Kramer. Crystal City would add two more runs in the top of the seventh but Devine won 8-4.
Oropeza 1 run, 3 hits, 4 RBIs. Kramer 2 runs, 1 hit. Crouch 1 run, 1 hit, 2 RBIs. Barron 1 run. Harrell 1 hit. Lawson 2 runs, 1 hit, 2 RBIs, 1 stolen base. Miller 1 run.
