Pirates sail into playoffs

The Lytle Pirates are headed to playoffs after taking 2nd in their district behind undefeated Poth. After going 14-2 on district, the Pirates were ahead of Dilley at 11-5 and Poteet at 10-6. Lytle played Edna who was 10-4 in district, 18-11 overall and 3rd in their district.
In their final game of district, Lytle beat Karnes City 94-54. Malakai Castro led with 25 points and Jordan Balderas was just behind with a double-double, 23 points, and 17 rebounds and a block. The Pirates were aggressive and played great defense which led to many scoring opportunities.
Stats: Daniel Aguirre 3 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Bryson Duty 14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal. Castro 25 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals. Jaelen Guevarra 7 points. Damien Garcia 4 points, 3 rebounds. Balderas 23 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. Emanuel Garcia 1 rebound, 1 steal, 1 assist. Eli Vega 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals. Caleb Wood 2 points, 6 rebounds. Joe Cortez 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. Tuesday night Poth played Hallettsville, Poteet took on Industrial, and Dilley played Columbus.
