Natalia ISD approves balanced $12.1M budget

The Natalia ISD School Board adopted a balanced $12.1 million budget for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year during a Special meeting on Monday, June 29.

“We had one of the best transparent budget processes since I have been on the Board,” President Eric Smith said.

The budget put together by Executive Director of Finance Norma Friddle estimates revenues at $12,193,428, and is a $337,597 increase over the 2019-2020 budget.

Expenditures include $9,250,735 in salaries and benefits; $1,172,715 in department budgets; $873,885 in allocated budgets, which include utilities, debt service, insurance, and the like; $470,621 in state programs budgets; and $425,472 in campus budgets.

“Our Executive Director of Finance did a phenomenal job throughout the entire process of keeping the Board informed as well as finding a way to make sure all needs from admin and department heads were met,” Smith said.

“I am very pleased we will finish in the black once again and adopt another balanced budget.”

The full budget is available on the district’s website.
