Mustangs impress in Cole scrimmage

Varsity Mustang Julian Martinez drags a Cougar along with him during Natalia’s recent scrimmage with Cole.

The Natalia Mustangs hosted the Cole Cougars this past Thursday in their last scrimmage and made some great things happen. See the devinenews.com website for photos of the scrimmage. Click on “photos” at the top of the menu which will take you to our viewing galleries.
“We were pleased with our performance at the Cole scrimmage as we took a step in the right direction. We were concerned with the speed of Cole but our kids handled it well,” said Coach Chad Graves.
“We are also very excited about the defensive take aways during the scrimmage. Our defense forced three turnovers which allowed our offense more opportunities to score.”
“Our offense played better too. We felt like we moved the ball well in the two quarters and found a way to put points on the board.”
“We are very excited with our kicking game right now. This will allow us to put points on the board inside the 25 yard line.”
“We still have a lot of work to do, but we feel we are getting better. Our goal right now is to be a better fundamental football team and approach each week as a district championship!” said Coach Graves.
