Sept. 28
1:30 AM – While on patrol at Best Western Plus officer noticed a vehicle blocking part of the parking lot. Officer spoke with the night clerk who stated the owner asked her to park there to discourage thefts.
8:20 AM – While on patrol, officer was waved down by Animal Control. Upon making contact with the Animal Control Officer, he advised that a dog had been shot.
9:16 AM – Officer responded to 15300 Blk. of Laredo St. for a report of a welfare check.
10:25 AM – Officer was contacted by complainant who was stating that she was being harassed by a person she filed a case on with Lytle PD. Officer contacted the other party and advised him not to contact the complainant from this point forward. The other party advised that the complainant was the one contacting his girlfriend and that was unwanted. Both parties were advised to not contact each other.
1:25 PM – Officers responded to 15300 Blk. of Laredo St. for a report of an open back door. Officers cleared the residence, all was secure.
2:10 PM – Officers responded to HEB Plus and talked to complainant who stated she was grocery shopping earlier in the day and had since driven back home when she noticed the damage on her vehicle.
2:30 PM – Officers responded to HEB Plus to unlock a vehicle.
7:30 PM – Officers responded to 20000 Blk. of IH 35 S and provided a courtesy ride to an adult male to Natalia.
7:43 PM – Officers responded to FM 1375 at IH 35 NB Frontage Rd. to assist a stranded motorist with a dead battery.
8:00 PM – Officers responded to FM 3175 at IH 35 NB Frontage Rd. to assist a stranded motorist who ran out of gas.
11:05 PM – Officers responded to Hwy. 132 at Priest Blvd. and provided a courtesy ride to an adult male to LaCoste.
11:33 PM – Traffic stop at 14900 Blk. of Main St. resulted in the arrest of a 22-year-old male subject for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Subject was cited and released.
Sept. 29
9:10 AM – Officer assisted the public with fingerprinting for employment purposes.
10:56 AM – Officer responded to Main Street at FM 2790 for a report the train crossing arm blocking the roadway. Officer removed the debris off the roadway and notified UPRR of the damaged crossing arm.
5:50 PM – Officers responded to 19500 Blk. of S. Somerset St. for a report of a loud ATV being driven in the neighboring property.
6:32 PM – Officers responded to 19700 Blk. of FM 3175 for a report of a red pickup truck driving through fences on private property. Officers located the driver who was being held at gunpoint by the homeowner. Cole Newman (25) was arrested for Criminal Mischief $750-$2,500 and was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail.
9:25 PM – Officers responded to 19100 Blk. of N. Prairie St. for a report of loud music. The music was turned off upon arrival to location.
10:26 PM – Officer responded to 15200 Blk. of Cottage St. for a welfare check on the homeowner. The homeowner stated that her daughter’s boyfriend had made threats to come to the house and take a vehicle away from her daughter because the two were in the middle of a breakup.
Sept. 30
12:58 AM – Officers responded to 18000 Blk. of Wisdom Rd. to assist EMS with a possible suicidal female who took an unknown amount of pills. Officer made contact with the unresponsive female and waited for EMS to arrive. The female was transported by Medina Co. EMS.
2:55 AM – Officer responded to Days Inn for a report of a suspicious man walking around the property. Officer spoke to the clerk who stated he saw a citizen give the man money and told him to leave the property. Officer searched the area, unable to locate.
6:42 AM – Officers responded to 15100 Blk. of Main St. for a report of an alarm.
10:40 AM – Officer responded to FM 2790 at FM 463 for a report of a suspicious male. Officer searched the area, unable to locate.
12:15 PM – Officer responded to Main St. at FM 2790 N for a report of a natural gas odor in the area. Officer patrolled the area but did not smell the odor. Officer contacted Lytle Public Works to check the area as well.
4:07 PM – Officers responded to 15200 Blk. of Cottage St. for a report of a civil matter.
4:40 PM – Officers responded to Dollar Tree for a report of a theft of an iPhone valued at $800. The suspect was unidentifiable due to the face covering and ball cap.
8:40 PM – Officers responded to El Bufalo Pawn for a report of a suspicious vehicle. This resulted in the driver being discovered as a missing juvenile. Officer spoke to the mother and father who both stated the juvenile had runaway but returned some time ago. The juvenile was released to the father.
11:00 PM – Officer responded to Lytle Mini Storage for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officer made contact and discovered the driver was cleaning out his storage unit.
Oct. 1
1:52 AM – Officer responded to 15500 Blk. of Main St. for a report a suspicious person on complainant’s property. Officer located the suspicious male and advised him to stay off the property.
3:55 AM – Officer responded to HEB C-Store Officer located the suspicious male at the Days Inn and determined no crime had been committed.
5:00 AM – Officer responded to Days Inn and talked to the clerk who was concerned that a guest that might cause a disturbance.
10:30 AM – Officers responded to Hurley Funeral Home and provided funeral escort.
12:31 PM – Two female subjects arrived at the Police Station and turned themselves in. The two 25-year-old women were arrested for having and an Active Lytle PD Warrant for Assault Causing Bodily Injury on a case that occurred on 8/23/20. Both subjects were transported to Atascosa Co. Jail.
4:01 PM – Officers responded to 19700 Blk. of S Benton St. for a report of a suspicious green van parked in front of a residence and the residents were not home. Officers made contact with two male subjects who stated they were mobile mechanics working on the vehicle and had permission to be there.
3:52 PM – Traffic stop at 19300 Blk. of W FM 2790 resulted in the seizure of drug paraphernalia.
6:33 PM – Officers responded to 17900 Blk. of Rocky’s Circle for a report of complainant who was “Scammed” out of some money.
8:15 PM – Officers responded to HEB Plus for a report of an irate male who was pinned down to the floor. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the male was autistic and was experiencing an episode. The male detaining the individual was the suspect’s father.
10:40 PM – During a building check, officers discovered two open back doors for Subway and Rx Pharmacy.
Oct. 2
12:45 AM – Officers located an abandoned vehicle at Lake St. and Wisdom Rd. A 72 hour tag was placed on vehicle.
1:00 AM – Officer responded to Days Inn and talked to complainant who reported a former guest had abandoned his bicycle at the hotel.
10:30 AM – Officers were contacted by Lytle State Bank in reference to an unknown individual attempting to transfer money form an account to a PayPal account. No money was transferred by the teller and the actual owner of the account was notified.
12:00 PM – Officer responded to 20100 Blk. of IH 35 Access Rd. at FM 3175 for a report of a crash.
12:36 PM – Officers responded to Buddy’s Rent to Own for a report of a verbal disturbance. Upon arrival, the manager stated the customer had calmed down and stated the police were not needed.
1:30 PM – Officer responded to 14800 Blk. of Lytle-Somerset St. for a report of a broken down vehicle blocking the road. Upon arrival, a Good Samaritan had pushed the vehicle off the roadway.
6:25 PM – Officers responded to Oak St. at S. Prairie St. for a welfare check on a man wondering around the area. Officers made contact with the male who was okay and just needed a place to stay.
7:39 PM – Officer responded to 18400 Blk. of Live Oak St. to unlock a vehicle.
8:02 PM – Officers were dispatched to Newton Street, a female was taken into custody on an emergency mental health detention. She was transported by Reyes & Robison to University Hospital.
11:35 PM – Officer responded to HEB Plus P-Lot for a report of a suspicious person. Officer made contact with subject, all was okay.
Oct. 3
12:23 AM – Officer responded to Burger King for a report of an alarm.
2:50 AM – Officer interviewed driver asleep in line at Whataburger and determined they were not intoxicated.
3:40 AM – Days Inn requested extra patrol due to a suspicious person in the area.
8:25 AM – Report of a loose potbellied pig on the south end of Main St. Animal Control was notified as well.
10:15 AM – Officers assisted in locating a missing postal package.
11:52 AM – Officers responded to a residential alarm in the 14700 Blk. of Main St., all was secure.
1:00 PM – Officer handed out Frisbees and LPD cups to various kids he saw during his routine patrol.
2:30 PM – Assisted Lytle EMS with an injured person at HEB Plus.
4:59 PM – Loose Cattle on Ball Rd. Officer contacted owner of cattle and assisted with their capture.
6:05 PM – Officer responded to property at the intersection of Lake St. and N. Benton. Unknown person took some electrical wire and a DeWalt table saw.
6:30 PM – Officers responded to the Dollar General for a report of a disturbance, the actors departed prior to our arrival.
7:53 PM – Officers responded to CR 6843 for a trespasser. Officers were unable to contact the complainant with the address given. Dispatch was unable to reconnect on the phone with the caller.
11:09 PM – Report of a Suspicious Person on Norvell St. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate the person.
Oct. 4
2:28 AM – While on patrol, officer located an open gate at Lytle HS. All appeared okay.
2:57 AM – Officer assisted DPS with a one-vehicle accident on CR 683.
5:43 AM – Officer unlocked a vehicle in the 19200 Blk. of N. Somerset St.
8:50 AM – Officer assisted Lytle EMS in the 15200 Block of Adams St.
4:15 PM – Officer received a report of suspicious activity at the Days Inn.
5:40 PM – Witness reported a male reached over the fence of True Value and took some tomato cages, the business was closed. Upon arrival it was determined that a 25-year-old male subject took 23 cages valued at over $100. He was booked into the Atascosa Co. Jail for Class B Misd. Theft.
9:27 PM – Officer assisted Lytle EMS with a patient on Rodeo St.
10:40 PM – Officer assisted Lytle EMS with a patient on First St.
