Lytle Police Report July 31-August 6

July 31

4:30 AM – Officer responded to IH 35 for a report of a motorcycle laying on the side of the road.


A records check was conducted identifying the owner. An attempt was made to contact owner but he did not answer. Officer recovered the motorcycle as it was a traffic hazard and safe keeping as it was unclear how the motorcycle came to be laying on the roadway. The owner was out of town and it was later determined that someone attempted to steal the motorcycle from Country View Apartments on McDonald St.

11:30 AM – Officer responded to 15200 Blk. of Hester St. for a report of an open window. Officer checked the residence and found the back door ajar and the front door unlocked. The residence was secure with no signs of criminal activity.

1:30 PM – Officer responded to 18200 Blk. of Wisdom Rd. for a report of a possible theft. Upon officer’s arrival, it was determined that no offense occurred.

2:00 PM – Officer responded to 14600 Blk. of Railroad St. for a report of illegal dumping. Extra patrol requested.

3:30 PM – Officer responded to Lytle Feed & Seed to unlock a vehicle. The vehicle left the scene prior to officer’s arrival.

5:30 PM – Officer responded to HEB C-Store to unlock a vehicle.

5:37 PM – Officer responded to 19000 Blk. of Elisa St. for a report of an attempted theft of motor vehicle.

7:07 PM – Officer responded to 19600 S. Benton St. to assist Atascosa Co. EMS with a patient.

7:20 PM – Officer responded to Hometown Depot for a report of two male juveniles carrying a BB gun. Officers identified the two juveniles and it was discovered that the BB gun they carried was to protect themselves from animal attacks. Officer provided a courtesy ride to their residence.

9:29 PM – Officer responded to John Lott Park for a report of a theft of $50 from complainant’s backpack while at the park.

10:30 AM – Officer responded to Lytle Nursing Home for a talk to an officer in reference to complainant’s ex-boyfriend sending emails over the last couple of months. Complainant feels he may try to damage her vehicle.

11:00 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 NB for a report of a reckless driver. Officer checked the area, unable to locate.

August 1

9:21 AM – Officer responded to 14900 Blk. of StarCross Trail for a check on a residence as per complainant as he thought the garage door was left unsecured. Officer arrived and found the garage door closed.

9:36 AM – Officer responded to Pumphouse Carwash to unlock a vehicle.

11:30 AM – Officer responded to 14700 Blk. of Main St. for a report of traffic hazard on the roadway. Officer arrived and removed debris.

12:00 PM – Officer responded to Exxon for a talk to an officer in reference to an unwanted person at complainant’s property. The elderly female agreed to leave.

12:15 PM – Officer responded to HEB C-Store to assist Lytle Vol. Fire Dept. with a small dumpster fire.

2:29 PM – Officer responded to HEB Plus for a report of a possible shoplifter. The alleged suspects were not detained due to lack of evidence of wrong doing. The suspects paid for the merchandise and left the store.

8:32 PM – of Vehicle Officer responded to 14700 Blk. of Railroad St. for a report of a theft of a motor vehicle. Officer was advised that complainant’s red 2005 Jeep Wrangler was stolen from his residence. Vehicle was located a couple hours later at John Lott Park.

August 2

10:25 AM – Complainant called the Police Station and talked to an officer in reference to people placing trash in the Pumphouse Carwash dumpster. Officer had two pieces of mail with names and addresses on them. Officer attempted contact but was unable to locate anyone.

12:00 PM – Officer responded to Pecan Grove Apts. to assist Atascosa EMS with an unresponsive elderly woman.

1:20 PM – Officer conducted a follow-up investigation on an ongoing case.

1:50 PM – Officer responded to Lytle State Bank to speak with a customer who was believed was a victim of a scam. Customer left prior to officer’s arrival.

August 3

6:30 AM – Officer responded to Cortez Auto  for a report of a 2004 Mazda that had gotten broken into sometime during the night of 8/2/17. An unknown person(s) pried the driver’s door window frame away from roof allowing entry. There was also damage to the driver’s door lock in gaining entry into the vehicle. The dash was dismantled and it appeared to be an attempt to remove the factory radio. Nothing was taken. Estimated repair cost $800.

8:40 AM – Officer responded to Vape Shop for an alarm. Building was found to be secure.

9:40 AM – Officer responded to Lytle Primary School to unlock a vehicle.

10:47 AM – Officer responded to 15700 Blk. of Main St. for a report of a woman who could not get out of her house. Lytle Fire Dept. sent to cut lock off her gate so she could get out.

11:05 AM – Funeral Escort Officers responded to Hurley Funeral Home  and provided funeral escort.

12:00 PM – Officer responded to Lake View at CR 6710 for a report of a suspicious vehicle at the mailboxes. It was discovered it was a resident waiting for the mail to arrive.

8:10 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 NB at Mile Marker 132 for a disabled truck. Officer arrived and met with the driver who stated the serpentine belt had busted.

10:15 PM – Officer responded to Lytle-Somerset St. for a report of a male in a jersey and shorts knocking on doors and asking for money. Officer searched the area, unable to locate anyone.

August 4

2:46 AM – Traffic stop at S. Somerset St. and Mesquite St. resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old male subject for having a Warrant out of Bexar Co. for Original Charge of Possession of Controlled Substance 1g-4g. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail.

8:45 AM – Officer responded to 19300 Blk. of McDonald St. for a report of an alarm. Officer arrived and found the residence to be secure.

9:30 AM – Officer responded to HEB C-Store to assist a motorist with directions.

2:07 PM – Officer responded to 14000 Blk. of Lake Shore Dr. to assist Atascosa EMS with a patient.

4:41 PM – Officer responded to 18200 Blk. of Wisdom Rd. to talk to an officer in reference to a civil matter.

4:52 PM – Officer responded to 15300 Blk. of Main St. for a report of a theft of a cell phone. Total estimated loss $100.

6:45 PM – Officer observed a blue Honda Accord on the median at IH 35 SB and Morales Feed parked in an awkward position. Officer red tagged the vehicle.

8:40 PM – Officer responded to 16200 Blk. of Ethan’s Crossing to unlock a vehicle.

August 5

1:35 AM  –  Traffic stop at 15000 Blk. of Main St. resulted in the discovery of one male and one female juvenile out past curfew. Officer contacted the parents of both juveniles and asked them to make location. Both juveniles were released to their parents.

2:30 AM – Officers responded to 15100 Blk. of Main St. for an alarm.

2:50 AM – Officers responded to 15900 Blk. of Lake Shore Dr. for a report of loud music. Officer spoke with the home owner and agreed to turn the music down.

5:30 AM – Officer responded to US Renal Care for a talk to an officer in reference to almost being hit by another vehicle. Complainant advised her door was bumped, no damages were noted.

9:10 AM – Officer responded to 18000 Blk. of Lake Wind for a talk to an officer in reference to complainant finding her garage door open in the morning as she was leaving the house. Nothing was missing, complainant requested extra patrols. Officer found no signs of criminal activity.

9:43 AM – Officer responded to US Renal Care for a talk to an officer in reference to complainant’s vehicle being struck while parked. Complainant’s vehicle sustained no damage other than a paint smudge oh the passenger’s side rear-view mirror.

5:32 PM  – Officer responded to HEB Plus for a report of two children left unattended in a vehicle. Case under investigation.

10:05 PM – Officers responded to US Renal Care for an alarm.

August 6

9:15 AM – Officer responded to 19400 Blk. of Cottage St. to talk to an officer in reference to a water leak. Lytle Public Works was notified.

7:20 PM – Officer responded to 18000 Blk. of Lake Shore Dr. for a report of a resident operating an ATV on the roadway. Officer gave the resident a verbal warning.
