After an impressive 16-4 season, the JV Warhorses won their final game against Hondo 8-1. “I was very pleased that the JV team ended up with an overall record of 17 and 4. We finished district play with a record of 7 and 1. We would have much rather have finished district play 8 and 0. I am proud of the team for competing in every game this season,” said Coach Bart Oropeza.
Top of the third, two outs, Justin Contreras on third, Christian Gerlach singled to left and Contreras scored. Clayton Brown singled to short. Darrin Lafferty at bat and Gerlach stole home, 2-0. Top of the fourth, two outs, Contreras hit a home run and Ralph Rios and Brady Hackebeil score, 5-0. Top of the fifth, one out, Gerlach and Brown on base, Gerlach stole home, and Mason Burford singled to bring home Brown. Robert Ramirez singled. Sage Crus singled to load the bases. Contreras singled and Ramirez scored, 8-0.
