In their first district game of the season, the JV Arabians fell to the Hondo Owls March 12th. It was a great game played by both teams but Hondo was able to outscore the Arabians in the end at 5-3.
Dawn Morris scored 2 runs with 2 fielder’s choice. Selly Gutierrez 1 double and 1 run scored. Cece Martinez 1 fielder’s choice, 1 walk. Mia Ramirez 1 double. Makayla Perez 1 fielder’s choice.
With this loss the JV Arabians were 9-7 overall and 0-1 in district.
After losing to Hondo, the JV Arabians had to work hard to turn their district season around and after beating Carrizo Springs and Crystal City, the Arabians are now 2-1 in district and 11-7 overall.
JV Arabians had a great game against Carrizo Springs on March 19th. In their first home district game of the season, the Arabians came out strong and worked hard for their 13-8 win. Lindsey Herrera, 2 walks, 2 stolen bases, 2 runs. Dawn Morris 2 walks, 1 FC (fielder’s choice), 2 runs. Selly Gutierrez 1 FC, 1 single, 2 runs. Dazzle Coronado 3 runs. Cece Martinez 1 walk, 1 FC, 2 runs, Mia Ramirez 1 FC, 1 walk, 1 run. Alex Pedroza 1 walk, 1 single, 1 FC. Bailey Crain hit by pitch. Brooklyn Crossland 1 walk, 1 single.
In their second game of the week, the JV Arabians beat Crystal City 11-3 on Friday. Almost every Arabian earned a walk or a hit off the Javelina pitcher. Herrera 2 walks, 2 runs. Morris 1 triple, 1 walk, 2 runs. Gutierrez 1 single, 1 walk, 2 runs. Martinez 1 walk, 1 stolen base, 1 run. Ramirez 1 walk, 1 run. Pedroza hit by pitch, 1 walk. Serena Macias 1 walk, 1 run. Crossland 1 walk, 1 double, 1 stolen base, 2 runs. Pitching for Devine was Makayla Perez with 2 strike outs and Morris with 1 strike out.
The JV Arabians will play at home against Hondo Tuesday, April 2nd and in Carrizo April 5th.
