Freshmen Arabians beat Uvalde, Bandera

In their first home game of their high school career, the Freshman Arabians beat Uvalde 25-23 and 25-20. Their first match was very tight the whole game, but the Arabians pulled ahead. It was in the second match that the team really came together to beat Uvalde. The girls are getting used to their spot on the court and managing how to play together as a team. They are handling their responsibilities well and I am proud of their big win,” said Coach Kimberly Lane.
The Bandera Bulldogs were no match for the Arabians. The freshman team beat Bandera in two quick sets. Coming out strong in the first match put the Arabians in the lead fast and they held that lead the entire game ending it 25-9. The Bulldogs bit back in the second set and made the Arabians work harder for their win of 25-18. Coach Lane said this about the game; “This game showed the girls how to play to the whistle and to be ready for anything. They handled that challenge and I think it is preparing them for the challenges we will face in District.”
Lacey Shook 2 kills, Darian Alvarez 2, Aleyna Gerlach 2, and Bri Torres 3 kills. Cece Martinez had 5 aces, Lindsey Herrera 2, Shook 2, and Brooklyn Crossland 1 ace.
The Freshman Arabians will face Marion at home on August 31st and then travel to La Vernia on September 4th.
