Fashion Design students in Mrs. Steubing’s class created fidget quilts for relatives and neighbors in the Devine Community for their end of year project. Six quilts were donated to Devine Health and Rehabilitation.
Fidget quilts are lap blankets with different sensory textures and have several items attached that stimulate activity. They have shown beneficial to individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s by providing a soothing distraction. Fidget items can help to reduce anxiety and relieve boredom.
