Devine Lions Club turns 67

Devine Lions Club President Lewis Stroud presents Devine VFD Treasurer Carla Walker with a check for $200.

The Devine Lions Club was chartered on April 24, 1952. Being a Lion is about serving others. Their goal is about helping those less fortunate and meeting the needs within the community. A grateful former recipient of their support stated, “Where there’s a need…there’s a Lion.”
The Lions’ only fundraiser is their annual golf tournament, which will be held June 8, 2019, at the Devine Municipal Golf Course. All of the money generated at the tournament goes back into the community of Devine and Devine ISD.
Lions International is the largest service organization in the world. They celebrated 100 years of service in 2017.
