Woman charged with First Degree Murder in death outside Devine

On Sunday afternoon, Uvalde PD arrested a 53-year-old female suspect charged with First Degree Murder for a crime that occurred just a few miles outside Devine this past Saturday. Victim 64-year-old Larry Pate, was found dead inside his rental home in the community of Bigfoot.
Medina County Sheriff’s deputies first responded to a tip from Uvalde PD and held the scene until Frio County arrived.
“We were called by Uvalde PD around midnight,” said Medina County Sheriff Randy Brown. “They had a person report the murder to them. The murder was about 4.5 miles south of Devine along Hwy 173 just past the Bigfoot cutoff road. We found blood at the door, and confirmed there was a deceased male on the floor inside the home and held the scene until Frio County arrived.”
Frio County Investigator Reyes Leal stated, “The victim was found inside the home where he resided with a single gunshot wound to the upper body from a revolver. We discovered the body shortly before midnight, but we believe the actual murder occurred earlier that day….We were told by friends and family members that Pate and [the subject] were good friends, and don’t believe they ever had any relationship other than that. The Texas Rangers are continuing to investigate this case.”
The Uvalde Police Department put out a plea on social media around noon at 12:21 pm on Sunday, August 19 while searching for the murder suspect stating “The Uvalde Police Dept. is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the female depicted below, identified as [subject] 53 years of age wanted from Frio County for First Degree Murder.
