Warhorses on track to claim a top seed

With the end of district in sight, the Varsity Warhorses are on track to claim one of the top seeds. They added another win to their record when they faced Pearsall on April 16th. Devine took the lead early and held on until the end for the win at 10-4.
Top of the first, Isaiah Oropeza singled to left, Ralph Rios walked, Dalton Kramer walked, and then Newt Crouch flies out while Oropeza scores. Truett Barron singled and then Brady Harrell singled, Rios out advancing to home. Gehrig Runyan singled and Kramer scored. With Chad Lawson at bat, Barron scored on a shortstop error and then Harrell stole home a few pitches later. First inning ends 4-0. Top of the second, 2 outs, Contreras on third, Kramer on first, and Crouch at bat, Contreras scored on an error. Crouch singled and Kramer scored, 6-2. Top of the third, Harrell doubles, Runyan singles, and then Lawson singled to bring home Harrell. Brady Miller ground out but Runyan scored on the play, 8-2. Top of the fifth, 1 out, Lawson on second and Miller on first. Oropeza hit a line drive to right and Lawson scored. Rios singled to right and Miller scored the last Devine run of the game. Devine won 10-4.

The Warhorses have an overall record of 17-6 and 6-1 in district and played their last district game last night against Hondo.
