DHS Warhorse Band is up and running! Officers, Drum Majors, Captains and Section Leaders attended an all day Student Leadership workshop in San Antonio July 21. Freshmen Orientation got off to a good start on Thursday, July 27. Full band rehearsals began August 1 from 7:30 am to 12 noon with sectionals to follow from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Band Boosters are looking for help during uniform fittings on August 7, 8, 9, and 10 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Contact person for this is Jenie Leal. She will be at the band hall all four days.
Our first Band Booster meeting will be held Tuesday, August 8 at 6:30 pm in the band hall. This school year’s officers are President: Stephanie Mohr, 1st VP: Jenie Leal, 2nd VP: Amy Hernandez, Secretary: Marisol Guajardo, Treasurer: Yolanda Silva, Reporter: Sandra Guardiola, and Membership: Stephanie Kohllepple. We’d like to encourage anyone who would like to support the Devine Band program to attend and become a member. We welcome middle school parents as well as high school parents.
Mandatory Parent Meeting for all DHS parents will be Tuesday, August 15 at 6:30 pm in the band hall. Policies, fees, and other requirements will be discussed.
