Varsity Arabians dominate Somerset and Pleasanton

Two more wins for the Varsity Arabians were no problem against Somerset and Pleasanton. Facing Somerset on December 12th, the Arabians played as a team and had the bench step up and play hard. Devine lead from the first buzzer to the last. The quarter break down shows how dominate they played. First quarter 12-5, second quarter 33-14, third quarter 41-21, and a final score of 56-29. “We got out to a quick start in the first half and did a great job of maintaining that lead in the second half.  I feel like this team in continuing to improve every game.” –Coach Jim Sessions
Chesney Friesenhahn and Lily Stricker each scored 10, Megan Runyan 9, Preslee Quisenberry 8, Sierra Pompa 7, Abby Whitaker 6, Maddie Mata 4, and Clarissa Zamora 2.
Last Friday, the Arabians traveled down to Pleasanton to continue their win streak. Final score of 43-27 was due to their strong defensive play and their offensive aggressiveness. “Offensively, we got out into transition some early and then late in the game we did a good job of scoring in the half court to really pull away.  Again, this team is really showing improvement in each game and practice.  I think this team can still get better, which is an exciting prospect.”
Chesney Friesenhahn was the top scorer with 15 points followed by Abby Whitaker with 12 points. Preslee Quisenberry had 6 points, Lily Stricker and Sierra Pompa each had 4, and Maddie Mata had 2 points.
With district starting in the New Year, the Arabians are in the right track to win each game. The Varsity Arabians overall record is 16-5.
