The driver of this truck flew off the freeway on I-35, plunging down to the FM 462 road below, hitting the retaining wall.
This terrible accident occurred just south in Moore this past Thursday morning around 7:30 am.
The driver was trapped in the truck, and thankfully, Moore VFD was on scene within 3-4 minutes to rescue him.
“The entire roof was caved in,” said Moore VFD Chief JD Earls. “We had to remove the roof to get to him. He went off between the north and south side of I-35 in the center median (at the FM 462 overpass).”
The driver was then rushed to University Hospital with possibly two broken legs. The driver was northbound on I-35 coming from Laredo when the accident happened near the Shell Station in Moore.
Looking at the images of this accident, it’s amazing that the driver survived. Chief Earls adds, “He definitely had an angel watching over him.”
