Juniors Preslee Quisenberry, Kayla Busby, and Shelby Spivey earned Academic All-District honors for their outstanding classroom performance for the two six-weeks grading periods during golf season. In order to receive the recognition, players must maintain a minimum of a 92.5 average for all classes during that time.
The 92.5 also represents what the Texas High School Coaches Association requires seniors to earn Academic All-State following their senior season. This is a path these three juniors hope to cross next year at this same time.
The golf season is a long one. It technically starts late January and finishes in mid-April. With tournaments played during the week on school time, keeping up with assignments missed, performing quality work, and getting them turned in on time is not always an easy task. These ladies excel in the classroom, which will help them with future endeavors more than sinking a 3-foot putt ever will.
