Lytle Pirate powerlifter Mario Diaz qualified for state competition after his 1,410lb performance at Regional last week in Bishop. Diaz popped 315lbs on bench, 525lbs on squat, and 610lbs on deadlift to advance to Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene on March 26.
Austin DuBose competed in the 220lb division and placed fourth. DuBose put up 325lbs on bench, 500lbs on squat, and 515lbs on deadlift to total 1,340 pounds.
Jason Vega, lifting in the 181lb division, benched 335lbs, squatted 475lbs, and deadlift 500lbs to finish with 1,310 pounds. Vega placed eleventh in his weight class.
