Last Friday, May 11, Natalia senior Julianna Morales signed her National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Texas at Austin to further her education and compete with the Longhorn powerlifting program.
“We are really excited for Juju and her family about this opportunity,” Natalia Boys’ Athletic Director and powerlifting coach Ilyan Martinez said. “Juju works extremely hard to be the best, not only athletically but academically as well. We are proud that she will go on and represent our program at the next level. We know she will do great.”
Morales qualified for the State powerlifting meet in all four seasons as a Lady Mustang, finishing 11th in the 132lb. weight class as a freshman in 2015, then taking back-to-back bronze medals in 2016 and 2017 before rounding out her high school career with a 4th place finish this season.
