Monell Treadway passed away February 14, 2018 in Limestone Co. Texas. He was 89 years old.
Mr. Treadway was born on October 9, 1928, in Oklahoma, to George Washington Treadway and Lillian Boaz Treadway. He was the next to the youngest in a family of eight boys and one girl.
He made his living as a salesman for many years and then went into the grocery store business. He owned, along with his wife, the Hilltop Grocery in Mount Pleasant and then he owned the Coyote Trading Post in Big Foot, Tx. Later in life, he moved to Kosse and Groesbeck Texas area to be closer to his family.
He was the father of three daughters and one son, Rosalyn, Oconita, Stormey and James DeWayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister, his daughter Rosalyn and one grandson.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to either a charity of your choice or to plant a tree in his memory with Trees for the Holy Land organization, at treesfortheholyland.com. It was his wishes that no formal funeral service be held, so there will be a family get together sometime in the near future in order to honor his wishes.
