Live Town Hall by Devine ISD addressed procedures for the upcoming school year, recording available online to view

Devine ISD Superintendent Dr. Todd Grandjean hosted two meetings online this week, one with the staff of Devine ISD on July 22 and the other with parents and the community on July 27. Both live town hall style meetings were on a question and answer format. The parent session is available for viewing on YouTube and the district webpage in case you missed it.
Parents, grandparents and community members are encouraged to view the town hall meetings as everyone is a part of the team that helps make our children’s school experience successful especially during these unprecedented times and days ahead.
The following was posted and sent out to parents prior to the Town Hall live meeting:
As new guidance, required procedures, and protocols become available to us, it is the goal of Devine ISD to provide you with access to as much information as possible. We appreciate your patience as we’ve worked hard to research answers to the many questions you all have regarding the impact the pandemic will have on our school and community this year. Please keep in mind that guidance is continually changing from federal, state, and local authorities and that any information that is released by the District at this time is subject to change.
In an effort to address questions staff have regarding COVID related questions for school, specifically, Devine ISD will host a live informational session on Tuesday, July 28th, at 6:30 pm. The session will be streamed via youtube live at the following link: https://youtu.be/hCZV1jtV6EQ
Topics covered in the session will include:
-Safety measures and procedures the District has implemented (based on guidance from the TEA and the CDC)
-General procedures for school operation
-Quarantine protocol (based on CDC guidance)
-Explanation of learning platforms available to students-Potential situational scenarios
The informational session was followed by a question and answer period. Questions can be emailed in advance and/or during the session to parentcovid19@devineisd.org . We highly encourage everyone with questions to email at any time prior to the meeting so that staff will have the chance to research if necessary. A recording of the session will also be made available via YouTube and the district webpage, and a Q&A document will be available and posted on the district website. Questions that cannot be answered during the session will be addressed as soon as possible via the Q&A document. Once more, as we receive updates from federal, state, and local authorities, answers to the questions discussed in this meeting may change. In those cases, Devine ISD will update the posted FAQs with any changes and note the date.
“The entire district team is hard at work developing plans for the return of students and teachers in August. Our staff and students’ health and safety is always the priority in the District’s decisions. Your patience, flexibility, and commitment to the students of this great district are greatly appreciated while we all strive to navigate the unprecedented challenges we are faced with at this time, “ said Dr. Todd Grandjean.
