JV2 Warhorses face Alamo Heights

The Warhorse baseball Junior Varsity second team faced off against Alamo Heights last Tuesday night and after just five innings, the JV was sent back home with a 2-9 loss. They held the lead at 2-1 until the top of the fourth inning when Alamo Heights scored three runs and then four more runs in the top of the fifth. Devine was not able to answer with runs.
Devine’s two runs came in the first inning when Brady Hackebeil hit a double and then stole third while Payton Carr was at bat. Carr walked and then Carlos Gutierrez hit a single and Hackebeil scored. With Carr on third and Gutierrez on second. Joey Blanquiz singled to left field and Carr ran home.
Hackebeil had 1 hit, 1 walk, and a run. Carr 1 walk and 1 run. Gutierrez 1 hit and 1 RBI. Blanquiz 1 hit, 1 run, and 1 RBI. Hayden Brummage 1 hit. Sage Cruz 2 hits. Marcus Espinosa, Blanquiz, Cruz, Carr, Gutierrez, and Outlaw Walker each earned outs against Alamo from the field. Pitching stats: Blanquiz 38 total pitches with 5 strike outs. Gutierrez 41 total with 1 strike out. Hackebeil 39 total pitches.
