Scoring in every inning, the JV Warhorses beat Hondo 15-2 on April 2nd. With Evan Priest and Robert Ramirez pitching, the Warhorses only allowed 5 hits in the 4.5 innings before the game was called after the top of the fifth. Priest threw 36 strikes in 62 pitches and Ramirez threw 7 strikes in 13 total pitches.
Bottom of the first, two outs, Justin Contreras was hit by a pitch and then stole second while Christian Gerlach was at bat. Gerlach doubled to left and Contreras scores. Jacob Barron singled and Gerlach advanced to third. Zach Alvarez singled and Gerlach scored. Mason Burford singled to load the bases. Priest walked and forced home Barron. Bottom of the second, Brady Hackebeil walked, Xsavior singled to center, Contreras singled and Hackebeil scored. Barron hit s sacrifice fly to left and Martinez scored. Alvarez singled and Contreras scored the last run of the inning, Devine 3 Hondo 0.
Bottom of the third, 1 out, and Priest on third, Hackebeil sacrificed and then reached first after an error while Priest scored. Martinez singled and then stole his way around the bases. Hackebeil stole home before Gerlach singled a line drive and Martinez scored. Devine 9, Hondo 1. Bottom of the fourth, 2 outs, Priest on third, Darrin Lafferty on second, Hackebeil was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Martinez at bat, Priest and Lafferty both steal home and Hackebeil takes third, Martinez singled to bring up Contreras. Contreras hit a double line drive to center and Hackebeil scored. Gerlach walked, Barron singled and Martinez crossed home. Contreras stole home before Alvarez singled to right. Burford singled a grounder to center and Gerlach scored the last run of the game. Devine 15 Hondo 2.
