The JV girls won against the Uvalde Lady Lobos in three games, 17-25, 25-14, and 25-12.
“Fresh off a tournament victory we were looking to make quick work of the Uvalde squads,” Coach Mark Mangold said. “The Arabians lost their first set which seemed to be an eye-opener. Games 2 and 3 the Arabians shook off the dust of a long bus ride and dominated the next two matches.”
On the offense, there were a total of 18 kills; Jasmine Pompa and Clarissa Zamora (5), Makayla Waddey (3), Halle Hagdorn and Janaee Wofford (2), and Brooke Runyan (1). They also scored 12 aces with Sara Moreno leading with 5, Gabby Rodriguez with 3, Runyan had 2, and Destiny Morales and Wofford had 1 each.
Defensivley, the JV Arabians had 39 digs: Moreno 17; Runyan 7; Wofford 5; Myla Miles and Rodiguez 3; Morales and Kaylee Howard 2. While Pompa and Wofford scored a block each.
“Sometimes there is nothing you can do about a bad game except forget about it,” Coach Mangold said.
