Jubilee Singers of South Texas concert Dec. 1

The Jubilee Singers of South Texas will present an end of year concert on Saturday, December 1 at 7:00 pm, at First United Methodist Church of Devine. The concert will feature old time gospel music as well as traditional and non-traditional seasonal music.
The choir was organized as the Jubilee Community Choir in 1998 and has continued as a group dedicated to singing old-time gospel music since its inception. Members of the Jubilee Singers of South Texas hale from areas in and around Devine, Lytle, Natalia, Poteet, Somerset, Atascosa, Moore, and places in between.
The favored music of their concerts is reminiscent of such groups as The Blackwood Brothers Quartet, The Chuck Wagon Gang, Stamps Baxter Quart, The Bill Gather Singers and others of that category.
Practices will resume in March for the 2019 season. All who would like to sing are welcome. Practice is each Monday night from 7:00 to 8:30 at First United Methodist Church of Devine.
Come and enjoy the concert and experience music that brings joy and sweet memories to the listeners. Donations of non-perishable food items are requested. Donations will benefit the local food bank. Additionally, a one dollar per person donation, to help offset the choir’s expenses, will be greatly appreciated.
