Fourteen individuals are competing in the Region IV 4A Tennis Tournament in Corpus Christi on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 18-19.
Unlike all the other sports, tennis is only allowed to advance the first two places in each division. Devine was able to win the #1 and #2 spot in every division in District 29AAAA, except boys singles!
Competing will be:
Mixed Doubles: Jaime Garza/Abbie Capps and team Tristan Woods/Julia Harrell.
Girls Doubles: Ariel Lopez/Preslee Quisenberry and team Lydia Zapata/Scarlett Smith
Girls Singles: Lindsey Spannagel and Chloe Serafin
Boys Doubles: Toby Ramos/Jake Harrell and Colton Bean/Mason Zenon.
“What a great tournament district was. I am so very proud of everyone. It was so exciting to see every court filled with Devine on the final day. The kid’s met their goal and who knows what will happen at Regionals,” said Coach Melanie Sostarich.
